Nachyala is a planet in a system close to Kalani Station. The planet is also known as Edinnus by some of its inhabitants.
== History ==
During the events of the [[Scream]], two separate human colony ships crash landed on opposite sides of the planet. They established outposts and started building settlements independent of each other.
The colony established on the South pole named the planet Nachyala, and came to be called Nachyalites. The occupants of the North pole named the planet Edinnus, and are referred to as Edinnites.
It took a few years for the two groups of settlers to discover each other. Despite their disparate cultural and religious beliefs, the two sides established diplomatic relations and shared resources. Eventually, as the two civilizations flourished, their development followed different paths.
The Nachyalites had a technological headstart and focused on the conservative and efficient use of Nachyala's natural resources. They built great centres of culture and R&D.
The Edinnites had fewer technological resources at their disposal and focused on geographical and population expansion. They advanced through mining of natural resources in a comparatively inefficient manner.
== Naquadah / Element Zero ==
Nachyala contains significant deposits of an elemental ore called Naquadah by the Nachyalites and Element Zero by the Edinnties. This rare element is used in extremely efficient interstellar travel. The use of naquadah-fuelled engines would theoretically, in the near future, allow large structures to be lifted whole off the planet's surface.
== Resource Exhaustion & Current Conflict ==
Over the last few years, both groups have discovered that Nachyala's natural resources are close to drained, allowing life to sustain for a few more decades (albeit some Nachyalite researchers are confident that with prudent use, enough resources are available to sustain all life for up to two centuries).
In response to the crisis, the Nachyalite government prioritized research into Naquadah-fuelled engines, with the aim of developing enough power to be able to not only evacuate all current inhabitants of the planet, but also to carry buildings and monuments significant to their history and culture.
However, alarmed by their own findings, the Edinnites' focus is on quick evacuation of their significant population. Having obtained Naquadah (called Element Zero by the Edinnites) research from the Nachyalites, the Edinnites are able to build their own starships.
However, the root of the current conflict lies in the location of the biggest deposit of Naquadah, which lies beneath the capital city of Nachyala. The Edinnites, growing impatient, have launched an assault on the Nachyalites to take the Element Zero by force.

But all have a large abdomen with 8 legs sprouting from the body that morph up into a humanoid form, with two arms.

Discovered by [[humans]] 800 years ago, Arachni are an advanced species able to travel between worlds, but have been largely shunned by other species. This is in part due to their predatory nature, and what many species feel is a primal fear. Each Arachnai has their own take on this, with some embracing the fear others have of them, some trying to fight against it, but most dealing with it as simply a part of life. As a result, most don’t leave Arachnai worlds, or only speak to those who they already have a good rapport with.

Originally peaceful and nomadic, they traveled the arid desert of Syva in a massive caravan, their numbers in the thousands. Deeply religious, the Sólstúla worship the very desert itself and revere water as the source of all life. They had no technology, but scavenged what they could from shipwrecks.
They used to send their most faithful into space via cryogenic escape pods from the crashed ships they found in the desert. This is a very symbolic event and is almost always the last they see of said person.
Recently, it has been discovered that the Solstulans have abandoned their nomadic heritage and are instead thriving in their holy city and advancing technologically with the help of a crashed AI named Adamm.

They feel cheated out of history and culture, as they are only 600 years old, but have all the tech of a space-faring race. They generally name themselves after one another, or people they know. Without gene editing, Kelku only live 60-65 years due to a genetic death marker. However this has been solved thanks to the work of doctors on Kalani station.
